Enclosed is the first upgrade of my Desk Accessory "At View". I appreciate everyone that took the time to become registered users of my program. There are still a few minor bugs, but they don't affect the functionality of the DA and they are much less severe than the bugs in the earlier released versions (0.76 and 0.8). I still plan to add zone name lookup, but that is the next project. Enclosed on the disk is the DA and a text file that describes all of the changes between the last release and this 1.0 release (It also has tidbits on Appletalk and the bugs in the earlier versions.). This version has been tested on both System Release 5 and 6 on a network that has 41 zones interlinked with EtherNet bridges (Bridge Communication IB/2's and IB/3's), Appletalk to EtherNet gateways (Kinetics FastPath's), and Appletalk to Appletalk bridges (Hayes Interbridge). It does require System version 4.1 or higher (and I don't check to see if you are running an earlier system)!!!!! If you are running this program on a Mac Plus, it is helpful to have the Appletalk system file (version 52). Mac Plus's with the early ROM's (128Kv.2, Lonely Heifer) use Appletalk version 19 and do not get updated in the System file. The Appletalk (v52) system file comes Liaison™ and FileMaker II. Otherwise, I don't know where to get it. I have not seen it regularly distributed by Apple. (Version 52 adds some features such as the ability to send Appletalk packets to yourself [this allows you to see other entities running on your own Mac].)
Features Include:
• Copy the selected text is supported (the copied selection has space only delimiting - not tab delimited).
• It also supports multiple monitors and large screens.
• Lists the number of Entities on the Zone being looked at and the number of actual nodes.
Menu Descriptions:
- About AT View - Shows who wrote this thing.
- Update List - Go look out on the network and see what is on again.
- Change Zone - Enter in the exact name of the network (upper and lower case and spaces are significant) to see users on a network other than your own. Enter in a "*" for your own zone. Automatically does a lookup after doing a change zone.
- Network Options - Sets the lookup delay/timeout for Appletalk. In networks with many bridges, there can be some delay in some nodes responding. The "Normal" option seems to work with up to 3 "hops". The "Very Large Option" is needed with Liaison™ (Infosphere) when dialing in at 1200 bps.
Other Instructions:
Put Apple's Responder™ Init (from System Release 6) in the system folder of every Mac on your network. This will register their name to the network. Responder also works with System Release 5.

Shareware Information:
This is shareware, but if you don't want to send me $5 per network zone this DA is installed on, use it anyway for free (and just feel guilty).
For Example: If "At View" is installed on 1 mac on 1 zone (on a 8 zone network) the shareware license fee is $5.
If "At View" is installed on 2 Macs on 1 zone (on a 6 zone network), the shareware license fee is $5.
If "At View" is installed on 2 Macs (one each in two different zones (on a 4 zone network), the shareware license fee is $10.
If "At View" is installed on 20 Macs (5 in one zone and 3 in one other zone (on a 4 zone network), the shareware license fee is $10.
The License fee has may not seem logical, but that's the way I did it.
